Cycle 2 Session 7 - Ethics
Ethics
We are born with internal boundaries, which govern our overall belief system. Your personal ethical system shows up in the response you make when a situation arises that challenges what you feel is right and wrong at the time.
Self-Reflection Questions
WHO controls the boundaries around ethics?
WHAT are three ethical words that can be used to describe you?
WHERE are you when it comes to having an ethical support circle?
WHY have your responses to situations and conversations changed over time?
WHEN it comes to your own ethical standards, are you a perfect person?
HOW can you forgive someone without understanding why they made certain choices?
Self-Reflection Points
Values are mostly connected to an emotion, unlike ethics, which are connected to an action. Ethics must have boundaries because they can have consequences.
We would like to assume that everyone is born with the same ethical beliefs. We know this is not true.
We actually believe that our view of what is ethical will bring a balanced flow into the world.
We lean towards people who have the same or similar views of what is right and wrong as our own.
Your view of integrity, honesty, faithfulness, compassion, loyalty, justice, and so forth may shift over time depending on growth, knowledge, and life experiences.
Be sure that the people in your inner circle validate your good works.
"And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise, for if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them." Luke 6:31 & 32 Holy Bible KJV
