Cycle 5 Session 24 - Forgiving Myself
Self-Reflection Questions
WHO has to forgive you at this point in your life? What if it never happens?
WHAT would you do if you were in the same situation (in your past) again? Without knowing what you know now.
WHERE is your emotional state when you think back on decisions you now regret? How can you remain present?
WHY is it important to know that today will be your past in the future?
WHEN focusing on your current goals and purpose, do you see the connection with your past?
HOW hard are you willing to work to get a strong flow of the love of goodness that surpasses a need for judgment?
What regret looks like.
Taking information you have now that you didn't have before and blaming yourself
A feeling of distress over something you did or didn't do because you were unaware of the outcome
Holding on to negative feelings about something you cannot change
Allowing someone to hold you accountable for their current emotional state.
Some evidence of Self-forgiveness
Doing self-building activities, taking classes.
Spending time with people who think you're awesome
Saying kind things about yourself and to yourself
Allowing yourself to be loved by others
Not allowing others to mistreat you in any way
Taking good care of your life, etc.
Self-Reflection Points
You can't turn back time but "When you know better, you can do better."
Regret can become an unhealthy cycle of negative thoughts. Use your mind productively. Focus on the things you have the power to change.
Showing a true expression of love and forgiveness to yourself will benefit everyone around you. Positive vibes are contagious.
Understand that you are not in control of the world or the things in it. Just your V.E.S.P.M. beliefs.
Choose to love yourself first. Others will tend to treat you how you treat yourself.
"If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing because as far as I knew, I did the right thing with the wisdom, knowledge, and resources, I had at the time." - April Thompson
